This post right here is definitley inspirational. Lyor Cohen played a very huge part in the success of Def Jam. Has worked with, and signed some of the biggest acts in music history. He also correct me if i’m wrong is one of the big bosses at Warner Brothers. Dame Dash also mentioned in an interview, that he could possibly be the reason for the rocafella break up? Hey who knows? In this post Lyor breaks down the definition of artist developement. Why it is important, and why labels don’t have the patience for it any more. True story.
This is ill to me,I had alot of fun making this. I recorded it at my studio. This is a three part freestyle, inspired by one of the hottest video games ever. Grand Theft Auto China Town Wars. The beats were produced by Dj Kahlil. When I played the game i heard the music, and i was amazed by the production. The game series alone is a “Classic” and one of my favorite of all time. This game is similar to a movie. So i wrote my version of it. Download it and Rock Out! Na na, download it and Staaaand Out!
This song is definitley a hip hop diamond in the rough. I recorded this song in Queens New York. The song is produced by Nuerolgist. One of the most talented producers i ever worked with. His sound is that real raw, break beat, tough snare head banga sound. Definitley a name you gonna start hearing alot. This track also features Smooth Da Hustler. A hip hop legend, and another talented artist who is also a hip hop legend Shabaam Sadeeq. This song is called Black Mask. Leave a comment and tell me what you think?
I made this song in 2004. A couple months after the deal with New Line Records was done.
I got a call from these producers from some where overseas called, Get Large. They threw me on a record with Ghost Face for this project they where working on. To make long story short. They gave me a beat cd with 25 beats.
I picked two,and this was one of them. I actually free-styled this whole song off the top of my head. I recorded it in my crib on pro tools. Then we recorded it again at Power Play studio in Queens. We got great feed back. So they decide to do a video for it.
I was not pleased with the quality of the video. I felt and thought it would clear and crispy.
What i do like about it though ,is that it’s very raw. We filmed it in East New York, Brooklyn right in my old neighbor hood. This is another record that is considered a classic!
