I recently got a chance to meet the super talented soul brother Bilal. He was promoting his new album Air Tight’s Revenge. In 2001, he released the “classic” debut album 1st Born Second. The album was released on Interscope Records. With hit singles like, Fast Lane featuring Dr.Dre, Some Times, and Soul Sista he definitley made his mark in the game. He than began working on Love 4 Sale. Love 4 Sale, was an album that appeared to be built around Bilal’s own ideas and vibe , with many of the tracks produced and written by Bilal himself except “Something to hold onto” which was produced by Nottz. Due to label politcs near the album’s completion, Interscope delayed the release date. It then was leaked on the internet in it’s entirety. Bilal has been featured on many other artist albums like Jay-Z, Talib Kweli, Common, Musiq Soul Child, Erykah Badu and more. Bilal continues to tour and signed to Plug Research in 2009. The Air Tight’s Revenge album features production from Bilal Oliver, Steve Mckie, Nottz, Shafiq Huysan, Conely Whitfield, and 88 Keys. I love the name of the album Air Tight’s Revenge. It’s sounds like a dope album title. Air Tight’s Revenge is available now go cop that Staaand Out!

Roc Marciano from The UN crew. Initially put on by fellow L.I. resident Busta Rhymes, it wasn’t until Marcy and his crew lent their vocals to three tracks for Pete Rock’s Petestrumentals project that the world really took notice. You might remember Roc from his killa verses on The Heist, featuring Ghost Face, and Raekwon. The “classic” cut off of Busta’s album Anarchy. Fast foward 2010 Roc presents his latest project Macberg.
