I recently got a chance to meet the super talented soul brother Bilal. He was promoting his new album Air Tight’s Revenge. In 2001, he released the “classic” debut album 1st Born Second. The album was released on Interscope Records. With hit singles like, Fast Lane featuring Dr.Dre, Some Times, and Soul Sista he definitley made his mark in the game. He than began working on Love 4 Sale. Love 4 Sale, was an album that appeared to be built around Bilal’s own ideas and vibe , with many of the tracks produced and written by Bilal himself except “Something to hold onto” which was produced by Nottz. Due to label politcs near the album’s completion, Interscope delayed the release date. It then was leaked on the internet in it’s entirety. Bilal has been featured on many other artist albums like Jay-Z, Talib Kweli, Common, Musiq Soul Child, Erykah Badu and more. Bilal continues to tour and signed to Plug Research in 2009. The Air Tight’s Revenge album features production from Bilal Oliver, Steve Mckie, Nottz, Shafiq Huysan, Conely Whitfield, and 88 Keys. I love the name of the album Air Tight’s Revenge. It’s sounds like a dope album title. Air Tight’s Revenge is available now go cop that Staaand Out!

Roc Marciano from The UN crew. Initially put on by fellow L.I. resident Busta Rhymes, it wasn’t until Marcy and his crew lent their vocals to three tracks for Pete Rock’s Petestrumentals project that the world really took notice. You might remember Roc from his killa verses on The Heist, featuring Ghost Face, and Raekwon. The “classic” cut off of Busta’s album Anarchy. Fast foward 2010 Roc presents his latest project Macberg.

Serius Jones meets StandOut FT
Serius Jones is making some serious noise in this music industry. New Jersey born, Jones is ready to unleash his unique sound to the world. After twelve consecutive victories, Jones captured The Fight Klub’s AllHipHop.com Battle Championship and cash purse by defeating the reigning Fight Klub champ. Jones inked a deal with D.T.P/Def Jam. With the assistance of Grammy Award winning recording artist and founder of DTP, Ludacris along with executives Chaka Zulu and Jeff Dixon. DTP Records all seemed well until Serius noticed he wasn’t getting the attention he deserved. Serius is independent right now,but got a lot of labels coming to the table and making offers. He also shot a short film called Life is Serius, that’s coming soon to a hood near you. If you wanna know more about serius check out his website http://www.getserius.com/ . It Staaand’s Out!

Free Way meets StandOut FT
By now we should all know Freeway. 3 classic albums, super collabo’s, incredible features, and crazy raw lyrics. Former Roc-a-fella/Def Jam artist, and rumor has it he’s currently sign to Cash Money/Universal. Mean while he just dropped a new project with super producer Jake One. The album is called The Stimulus Package. It’s strictly hip hop, “Free” sounds hungry as ever. On this album, he rips beats consistently. “Jake One’s” production speaks for it self. The album is full of hard kicks, snares, and soul samples.
The Stimulus Package comes housed in a gigantic money clip– the liner notes on the backs of gigantic dollar bills with the faces of Freeway and Jake One on them, the CD itself in a cardboard wallet along with a download card for the instrumental version. Great creativity! Some say it’s the hottest album cover ever ! I think it’s pretty dope. You be the judge? Staaand Out!
